          We want to make sure you are happy with any product you buy from Leavitt & Peirce. We offer refunds on merchandise that is still in saleable, unused condition, within thirty days from date of delivery, as long as it is allowable by law. The list of items we cannot accept refunds on includes, but is not necessarily limited to:

                      Items where refunds are prohibited in our home state of Massachusetts, such as:
                      - Straight and safety razors
                      - Razor blades
                      - Hair and shaving brushes

                      Items which are consumable or subject to expiration that have been used or unsealed, such as:
                      - Pipe or other loose tobaccos
                      - Body & shaving soaps

                      Items which have been used by putting them in the mouth or nose, such as:
                      - Nose hair trimmers
                      - Pipes
                      - Flasks

            If you have been sent a product in error, or if there are any issues with your order, please contact us as soon as possible and we will make it right. Please note that to avoid fees, we ask that refunds are made to the original card that you made the purchase with.

          This privacy policy sets out how Leavitt & Peirce uses and protects any information that you give Leavitt & Peirce when you use this website. Leavitt & Peirce is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. PLEASE CHECK YOUR SHIPPING INFORMATION BEFORE SUBMITTING YOUR ORDER! Address corrections and returned shipments incur charges that WILL be passed on to you if the correction is a result of a mistake in the shipping information given. 
 
UPDATE: SHIPPING METHODS AND PRICING:
          Leavitt & Peirce now offers USPS shipping on all packages that contain NO chewing tobaccos or snuff (Shipments of cigarettes, small filtered cigars, cigarette tobaccos and smokeless tobaccos are banned via the USPS). Most packages ship via USPS Ground Advantage with a 2-5 day transit time, but please contact us via a note in your "shopping cart" under "Add note to seller", or through our contact page or email at info@leavitt-peirce.com if you'd like to use a faster or alternative shipping service.

          Our USPS shipping costs are assessed on a sliding scale according to the cost of goods sold before tax, where: 
 
          orders with goods costing from $0 - $24.99 (before tax) cost $6.15 to ship,
          orders with goods costing from $25 - $49.99 (before tax) cost $7.15 to ship,
          and orders with goods costing $50 or more (before tax) cost $8.15 to ship.

          USPS shipments do not require a signature to be accepted, and all shipments come with $100 worth of free insurance. If you'd like to insure your shipment for more that $100, please let us know in your "shopping cart" under "Add note to seller", or contact us at our contact page or at info@leavitt-peirce.com and we can add full coverage for 1-2 more dollars.
 
          Due to USPS regulations on shipping smokeless tobaccos, all smokeless tobaccos (moist & dry snuffs and chewing tobaccos) must be shipped via the UPS, and will require an adult (21 or older, not necessarily the addressee) to sign for the package and show a government issued photo ID. Due to the signature requirement, shipments with moist or dry snuffs or chewing tobaccos will incur a $6.70 adult signature fee on top of UPS pricing. Please be advised that UPS pricing WILL NOT show in your online shopping cart, but will be added to your order manually before your order ships. Due to the same USPS restrictions on shipping moist or dry snuffs or chewing tobaccos, moist or dry snuffs or chewing tobaccos cannot be shipped to P.O. boxes.

 
           All shipments come with a USPS or UPS tracking number which can be entered at www.usps.com or www.ups.com to track your package. If for any reason we don't provide you with a tracking number, please contact us at (617) 547-0576, or email us at info@leavitt-peirce.com, and we'll get it to you ASAP.

SHIPPING RESTRICTIONS:
          As of May 25th, 2024, the following states have restrictions that prohibit us from shipping some types of tobacco products to consumers. If your order will be delivered to one of the following states and contains an item that would be illegal to deliver into that state, your order will not be charged, Leavitt & Peirce will place a hold on your order, and we will attempt to contact you to resolve your order. The states and the items that they prohibit delivery of are:

          Arizona: All tobacco products
          Maine: All tobacco products EXCLUDING premium cigars
          Maryland: All tobacco products EXCLUDING pipe tobaccos and premium cigars
          Oregon: All cigarettes, RYO tobacco, smokeless tobacco, and e-cigarettes
          South Dakota: All tobacco products
          Utah: All tobacco products
          Vermont: RYO tobacco, small cigars and snuff
          Washington: All tobacco products
          Wisconsin: All tobacco products
 
          In addition, the following states require any consumer who receives a shipment of tobacco products to pay the state excise tax to the receiving state:

          California: Consumers must register with and pay taxes to the CDTFA -                               https://www.cdtfa.ca.gov/industry/cigarette-and-tobacco-products.htm#Consumers
 
          North Dakota: Consumers must pay the state tobacco tax - payment can be made online and rates can be found here: https://www.nd.gov/tax/tobacco
 
          South Carolina: Persons bringing tobacco into South Carolina are liable for any unpaid state tobacco tax. A payment portal and current tax rates can be found at https://dor.sc.gov/tax-index/miscellaneous/tobacco/Pages/other-tobacco-products.aspx.
